Case Management

We have a dedicated caseworker team who deliver both immediate and long-term support to individuals experiencing homelessness. These caseworkers tackle the root causes of homelessness and expertly guide clients through the complex landscape of available resources, working decisively towards restoring their stability and independence.

At The Salvation Army Winnipeg Centre of Hope, caseworkers deliver personalized, client-centered, and trauma-informed care that effectively addresses both immediate needs and long-term objectives. Through a steadfast commitment to empathy, resource coordination, and advocacy, caseworkers empower their clients to overcome the significant challenges of homelessness and actively pursue stability. The caseworker’s journey begins with conducting intake assessments—crucial steps where they gather vital information about the individual’s background, including health, housing status, and reasons for homelessness. After completing this assessment, caseworkers collaborate closely with clients to craft personalized care plans that establish both short-term and long-term goals to secure their well-being and stability. Caseworkers at the Salvation Army are relentless in their pursuit of affordable long-term housing solutions for clients. They facilitate applications for subsidized housing and connect individuals with reliable affordable housing providers in Winnipeg. Moreover, caseworkers ensure clients can access essential social services, including financial assistance, healthcare, counseling, and job training programs.

Recognizing that many homeless individuals encounter additional hurdles—such as legal issues, addiction, or health crises—caseworkers decisively advocate for their clients, guiding them through these complexities. They also coordinate emergency services, ensuring that clients receive timely medical attention or law enforcement support, guaranteeing that individuals get the care and assistance they need.
