In 1897 The Salvation Army Men’s Social Services Department operated a workmen’s Hostel on the corner of Logan Avenue and Fountain Street. The hostel provided food and shelter to the needy. Over the years The Salvation Army has provided similar services from a variety of downtown locations. The current Winnipeg Centre of Hope opened in 1988 as a residence for single men.
Winnipeg Centre of hope can now accommodate over 250 individuals as listed below:
